Atlanta rapper B.o.B. started a GoFundMe campaign in September to fund his quest to prove the Earth is flat and he's got another topic to disprove in American history - slavery.

In an Instagram post, B.o.B. wrote, "They say slavery lasted 400 yrs... America is only 250 yrs old... You ever seen a slave ship? They can find a billion year old dinosaur bone but can't find any slave ships."

For those of you who might be second-guessing everything you've been taught about slavery, stop. The years of African slavery in America really happened and here's some quick links to back that up.

Here's an article in The Atlantic about efforts by scholars partnering with the Smithsonian to restore a sunken ship that wrecked in 1794. Here's a link to actual ship manifests from the National Archives that had the names, age and other details of African slaves being brought into the New Orleans port. Here's another link to the National Mesuem of African American History and Culture's collection of slavery artifacts, including clothing, a "slave badge," and photos.

If you don't trust what you see on the internet, either, then visit Houston Museum of African American Culture in the Museum District to get some real-life knowledge.
