A man was injured after a woman crashed her Jeep Wrangler into the back of a street sweeper vehicle early Wednesday morning after a mixture of thick fog and dust blocked the woman's view, contributing to the collision.

The crash occurred at about 2:20 a.m. on North Freeway at Richey Road in northern Harris County.

Deputies found the Wrangler lodged behind the sweeper with heavy damage, but the female driver was uninjured. A special wrecker had to be called to pull the entangled vehicles apart.

The male driving the street sweeper was was transported to Northwest Hospital with neck and back injuries, according to deputy reports.

Investigators say the cause of the accident was heavy fog. However, speed under the conditions possibly played an underlying role in the accident, according to a crash report.
